First Aid Kit - I love this song! Have a listen to it. So far…
I’ll be your Emmylou and I’ll be your June
And you’ll be my Gram and my Johnny too.
No, I’m not asking much of you
Just sing little darling, sing with me.
You read that right. Blues rock master Dan Auerbach, lead vocalist and guitarist for The Black Keys, teamed up with the red hot emerging soul artist Michael Kiwanuka on a track titled Lasan. There’s definitely a bluegrass feel to the folksy, country track. It has a lot less of Kiwanuka’s usual soul flavor, but it shows that his sound can be versatile.
This is perfect …for a chocoholic ;-)
True :-)

I have heard the name “The Maccabees” for a few years now but never really got to listen to their albums. Don’t know why (stupid me). However, when I was in London recently the whole city was full with posters for the upcoming new record “Given To The Wild” and at the same time I heard they were going to play in Cologne (sold out gig). Wohooo! Sounds like a jackpot and IT WAS indeed! I went to the gig without haven’t heard a single song of them.
Sad thing, Orlandos mic was too quiet so I almost couldn’t hear him whilst standing in the front row. Good thing, Felix guitar skills are INCREDIBLE! His guitar sounded sooo perfect! I can’t remember when I enjoyed guitar parts during live gigs THAT MUCH. It was absolutely stunning! I’m really hoping to see them live again soon. And no doubt, 2012 is going to be big for them!
In the meantime I listen to all their albums in loop. :-)
Btw they are going to perform at this year’s NME Awards at The O2 Academy Brixton on February 29.
WOW! Stunning pictures of a stunning young lady with a stunning voice. :-)
